Famke Janssen as Phoenix in 'X-Men: The Last Stand' (2006)
Monday July 16, 2012
Brett Ratner pretty much ruined the X-Men franchise with The Last Stand, but Famke Janssen’s psychopathic Phoenix was one of the film's fiery bright spots. Special mention goes to the scene wherein a resurrected Phoenix tears down a steel door with her mind powers while wearing booty shorts.
Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre in 'Watchmen' (2009)
Monday July 16, 2012
Canadian beauty Malin Akerman did a fine job of playing the hard-as-nails but conflicted Silk Spectre in the bloated, slo-mo testosterone shlock that was Zack Snyder’s Watchmen. It’s hard being the emotional core of a film built on clichés, but Akerman pulled it off. And watching her make love to Dr. Manhattan gave all of us serious blue-penis envy.
Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in 'The Avengers' (2012)
Monday July 16, 2012
The Avengers is currently on pace to make a gazillion dollars and Scarlett Johansson has a lot to do with that. Sure, her character was flat, static and useless to the ultimate conclusion of the film — but the way she breaks people’s necks with her legs is so hot.
Who knew that a movie with Peter O’Toole, Faye Dunaway and Mia Farrow could be so bad? Indeed, the only thing worth looking at in Supergirl is the title character, played by Helen Slater, doing double duty as a blonde and brunette. The film’s creators decided to forego the Super-uniform tradition of underwear on the outside, but the mini skirt does the trick.
Jessica Alba as the Invisible Woman in 'Fantastic 4' (2005)
Monday July 16, 2012
It’s pretty much impossible to make Jessica Alba look unattractive. Whether pregnant, without makeup or eating a sandwich, she always looks good, so it’s no surprise she made this list. To be honest, we’ve never watched Fantastic Four in its entirety, because when Jessica Alba isn’t in frame, really, what’s the point?
Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy in 'Batman and Robin' (1997)
Monday July 16, 2012
In first act of Batman and Robin, Uma Thurman goes from science nerd to maniacal Venus flytrap, and we couldn’t be happier. Uma is a veritable sex-bomb and spends the rest of the film murdering men with her poison kiss and seducing George Clooney. It’s too bad she didn’t make out with Alicia Silverstone’s Batgirl, though.
Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman in 'Batman Returns' (1992)
Monday July 16, 2012
When Tim Burton announced that Catwoman would be the new villain in Batman Returns, we worried that such a cartoony character would ruin the franchise’s “serious film” credibility. Then we found out Catwoman would be played by Michelle Pfeiffer in hyper sexualized S&M leather — concerns quelled.
Janeane Garofalo as the Bowler in 'Mystery Men' (1999)
Monday July 16, 2012
If a sense of humour is what you look for in a Superlady, then look no further than the Bowler, played by sasspan princess, Janeane Garofalo. She’ll probably leave you in the middle of the night, but deep down she’s a daddy’s girl (she keeps his skull inside her magic bowling ball). Well, that’s kind of creepy, but at least she likes sports.
Holly Hunter as Mrs. Incredible in 'The Incredibles' (2004)
Monday July 16, 2012
You won’t find a woman with more curves, than Mrs. Incredible. This bendy beauty is a mom though, so keep it on the clean side or risk getting your ass handed to you. Luckily, Holly Hunter’s southern drawl brings the perfect level of adorable to this heroine’s tough exterior.
This girl is bad news, in a good way. Sarah Douglas’s Ursa is probably the most fatale femme on our list. When she’s not pounding pretty boy Christopher Reeve or punting astronauts, Douglas is looking good in her pioneering low-cut space thing. Douglas paved the way Superladies and we should all be grateful.
