OLYMPIC WATCH: WHERE'S THE SNOW?

The Winter Games are returning to Canada for the first time since 1988 and all eyes are on upon us. The athletes are have been preparing for four years, taking advantage of the latest technology, each hoping to be the first to win gold on Canadian soil.

Every last detail has been planned and organizers are ready ... with a slight hitch.

At Cypress Mountain, host to six skiing and snowboarding events, there's a shortage of the white stuff. There's no snow and none in the forecast with the Olympics just weeks away. With temperatures too warm to use snow machines, stockpiled snow will be trucked in from higher elevations.

Organizers say this is normal protocol -- it was a concern in Nagano in 1998 until it was hit with a blast of snow just prior to the games, such measures had to be taken in Innsbruck in 1964.
