Jim Carrey has apparently dropped out of a proposed Dumb and Dumber (1994) sequel, citing a lack of progress and enthusiasm from Warner Bros. studios. The idea of Carrey and Jeff Daniels returning to lowbrow comedy after years playing homosexual con men and negligent intellectuals was certainly intriguing, so this is unfortunate! Hopefully Warner will take a break from art house movies and challenging satire and cater to the public demand for a Dumb and Dumber sequel, but Hollywood is apparently not interested in projects that require absolutely no effort to sell.
