There are a lot of embarrassing things the human body does, from what you do in the bathroom to burps and farts. And some ailments, although really common, are things you just don't want to talk about. But there's no need to suffer in silence.

There are things you can do on your own to treat some of these embarrassing conditions. Some still, could be signs of more serious issues and you do need to speak to your doctor.

Erectile Dysfunction

It can be difficult to talk to your doctor, or anyone, about this particular issue. But you're not alone. In fact, studies suggest that one third of all men have erectile issues at some point in their lives, young or old.

ED can be a sign of a few things. It can happen because of drugs and smoking. It can be a symptom of depression. It can also be a sign of heart disease, diabetes, and circulation problems. You could even be having issues because of medications you are on.

You need to talk to your doctor about ED. They will be the one that can work to pinpoint what is causing your issue. They may be able to prescribe something or simply suggest some lifestyle changes that can get you working right and having fun in the bedroom again.

Premature Ejaculation

If you suffer from premature ejaculation you know how embarrassing it can be when you are in the middle of an intimate moment. Maybe you've gotten used to it and have an understanding partner, but you can still do something about it, instead of just living with it. This could open you up to even more fun in the bedroom as well.

First, calm down. Sometimes this issue simply comes on because you are anxious. Try meditating before sex, or just try to think less about it. However, anxiety isn't the only cause, so being relaxed might not help.

Your premature activity could be caused by hormone and thyroid problems. It could also be a sign of prostate issues. It's definitely important to bring this issue to your doctor for early detection in the event that it is one of these issues.


Both men and women suffer from hemorrhoids, but that doesn't make them any less embarrassing or annoying. Hemorrhoids, in men, are mainly caused by diarrhea, constipation and straining to "go." That means that if you avoid bowel issues, and don't push too hard on the can, you should be able to avoid them.

If you can't seem to avoid them, you can find over-the-counter medications that can help with swelling, itching and other unpleasant symptoms, such as creams and oils. What you want to do is make sure that you look for natural hemorrhoid products for relief. But there are some ingredients, like alcohol, that you want to avoid.

Some other things you can do to help ease the symptoms are bathing in warm water with oatmeal and taking your normal over the counter pain relievers.

Jock Itch

If you ever had an itch "down there," you know that it can be very annoying and very embarrassing. But what can you do about it. Well, it's actually fairly simple if you understand what the issue is and how you are getting it.

Jock itch is a fungal infection, similar to athlete's foot. It spreads easily, and if you're showering and changing in a gym or locker room you are opening yourself up to it, literally. So, what can you do about it?

To start with, use clean towels, washcloths and underwear. If you are showering in a public shower, wear flip flops or swimming shoes and don't wash your "jock" with the same washcloth you use to clean your feet. You can also find creams, both prescription and over the counter, to deal with the itch and rash if you've come into contact with this infection. It also helps to keep the area dry.
