HOW TO TAKE YOUR SPRING BREAK TO FLORIDA TO THE NEXT LEVEL

A while back there was a petition for Canada to buy Florida, simply due to how many Ontarians (and other Canadians, of course) visit and live in the sunny state. It’s the perfect getaway, after all, from the cold slush and ice of Canadian winters, and the perfect way to welcome the warmer weather. The March break is also conveniently timed. Who wants to bake in Florida’s summer sun? The mid-March temperatures in Florida, however, are perfect. Especially for those of us who are likely to walk out of the house in shorts at the first sign of positive-degree weather.

There’s a lot more to do in Florida, however, than just lie on a beach. That’s why this spring, take your trip to the next level with these tips:

1. THE EVERGLADES

The Everglades are practically a world away from anything you can see in Canada, which is why it’s the first place you should go to this spring. Take a tour of the area on an airboat, and breeze through the river of grass. You’ll likely spot a few crocodiles along your way.

Once you’re done, try a bit of local cuisine! You can have deep-fried crocodile, local seafood, and so much more. A favourite of Floridians is the cracked conch, a delicacy you won’t find back home.

2. THEME PARKS

Florida is absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to theme parks. You have Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, LEGOLAND, and so much more. It’s perfect for adults and families alike, so go out and choose your theme park, and enjoy the rides, the thrills, and the characters.

3. THE FLORIDA KEYS

If you want to beach in Florida, there might not be any place better than the Florida Keys. It is the perfect party destination on the beach. It also could desperately use your tourism after it was hit by hurricane Irma. The appeal of the Florida Keys, however, are the beach shacks, the white sands, and the stunning views. Go on and help them rebuild by having an adult, fun-filled adventure yourself.

4. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER

If you have any interest in space, NASA, or just technology, you have to visit the Kennedy Space Center. It is a working shuttle launch site, so you might get lucky and see a space launch for yourself. If there is no launch, you can still visit the visitor complex, where you can see some incredible exhibits and learn about the history of the site.

When you are in Florida, however, you have to be careful. The universal healthcare debate might be a hot topic, but if you go without adequate insurance, you could end up paying hundreds or thousands out of pocket. That is why if you have been in an accident that wasn’t your fault, especially if it was devastating, you should also hire a Jacksonville truck accident attorney. It’s the only way to get the compensation that you deserve, especially if your travel insurance doesn’t cover all of the costs.

Before you leave, know your options, be safe, and have fun in the sunny state.
