Sight-seers take in the lofty span of the Seaway Skyway, also known as the St. Lawrence Bridge, over the Canadian channel of the St. Lawrence River in this June 1961 image published in The New York Times. The bridge, spanning 350.75 metres (1,150.8 feet) across and joining Ogdensburg, New York on the U.S. side and Johnstown, Ontario on the Canadian side was completed the previous year.
